Post subject:  Canadian Luthier Supply Binding Jig
My new binding jig from (forum sponsor) Josh House of House Guitars and Canadian Luthier Supply just arrived! I can't wait to use it. I was looking to simplify, and this looks like it will deliver.

Each dumbbell is nicely stamped in succession (20, 21, 22, etc), which should making finding the perfect fit quick and easy once I similarly mark them in inches. I'm also looking forward to not having to square the body up in carriages. Thanks, Josh!

You will love it James. I have the original version that Mark Kett used to sell. It has a little less spit and polish, but it's the same basic jig, and it's brilliant.
I recommend that you dedicate one router to the jig and just leave it permanently attached.

I've been using this style jig that Jean Larrivee made for me since 1974 ... simple and it gets the job done well.

Josh recommends that, too. Right now I only have my PC 310. Josh said it would work fine to mount and dismount it as needed, but I'd need to re-center it each time (shouldn't take long to do). I'm strongly considering getting a second router of some sort to dedicate to the jig. The 310 works for nearly every task I've needed a router for, so I'm not sure if I'll get another laminate trimmer or a full sized router that I can borrow from it on the rare occasion I find myself needing one.

David, one of your recent videos was the straw that made me cave and put my all but brand new LMI jig up for grabs in the classifieds. The cradle-based jigs are great, but every time I saw someone use this type of jig, I couldn't help but think I could skip the cradle and still get great results in a space and time-efficient package.

I have one of the original jigs as well (which is still in use). It has served me faithfully for 12+ years and is the basis for my design.
